GCSE PE / Sports Studies
Students will be assessed at the end of the course through a written examination (40%) and a practical performance (60%)
Practical
Students will need to offer four activities for assessment, two which may be off site activities e.g. Karate (with supportive evidence). The student must offer four performances, at least two as a player and two others as a player, leader or official. Candidates can perform no more than two roles in one activity.
Students are awarded performance marks from their teacher and then observed by a visiting WJEC Moderator, who verifies the accuracy of the marking.

- Technical and tactical influences on health, lifestyles and performance
Section A (20%)
This will be assessed through a series of short responses and extended writing questions based on video extracts.
Section B (20%)
This will be assessed through a combination of short responses and extended writing questions.
Regular participation in all lessons is essential, with students wearing the recognised school kit for all sessions.
