STEM Robotics Year 8 and 9

Engineering Design arranged for Glyndwr University to come in to school to spent a day with year 8 and 9 pupils through the STEM robotics and programming challenge. The activities allowed pupils to apply numeracy and problem solve skills to drive a robot independently through a series of programmable commands around an obstacle course. The numeracy was based on distance and time which allowed pupils to apply numbers to an actual problem based practical task. All pupils enjoyed the day and the engagement from all pupils was outstanding. This fits into a larger scheme of educational enrichment activities and lessons to engage pupils to consider a future in STEM careers.
