Lego Challenge Engineering Design

A team of year 8 and 9 pupils took part in the Engineering Education Scheme Wales Lego challenge and fun day on Friday. The focus of the challenge was to ensure the teams from a variety of eleven schools across North Wales are ready fro the first stages of the national competition run by Lego. The pupils worked as a team to create programs to run the NXT and EV3 robots on a set track under strict timed conditioned. The atmosphere was tense and pupils learnt that team work was the key to succeeding in the challenge in order to make progress at each stage. The team was also questioned and cross examined by a team of judges on the team strategies as well as their roles and responsibilities. The team came away with very important skills and medals for their work during the day at Ysgol John Bright in Llandudno.
